Migrant Farm Housing
Numerous migrant farm workers and their family members come to New York State and leave their homes to plant, cultivate, harvest, and pack fruits, vegetables, and nuts. Hand labor is necessary for the production of the blemish-free fruits and vegetables that consumers demand.
The Clinton County Health Department performs inspections on migrant farm workers' housing units in Clinton County, to ensure that they are providing a safe and sanitary environment for the workers, per the health code.
Applying for a Permit to Operate
An application for a permit to operate a migrant farm camp that provides housing must be submitted to the permit-issuing official at the Clinton County Health Department at least 30 days before.
See the Info Bar for state regulations and to download some of the forms you need in order to operate.
