Improved Pregnancy Outcome Program (IPO)
Pregnancy is an important time for mother and baby. Many changes occur with you, your baby, and your family during this time.
One of the most important things you can do for your baby when you are pregnant is to get early and regular prenatal care. An obstetrician, a nurse practitioner, or a certified nurse midwife may provide this care. Please contact your doctor as soon as you think you may be pregnant.
The IPO Program’s goal is for you and your baby to have the best possible outcome! Nurses provide health education to expectant families to support the prenatal care received from the doctor. Nurses can assist you by answering questions about being pregnant, becoming a parent, and your medical care.
Nurses partner with your doctor to offer help to expectant mothers with information on having a healthy pregnancy and accessing needed services.
The nurses working with the prenatal program will provide information about community services, parenting, normal pregnancy, dental care, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle choices.
